The Mendham Fire Department is pleased to announce that this year’s scholarship has been awarded to Firefighter Joe Greco and Firefighter Robert Bruin. Joe and Robert graduated from West Morris Mendham High School last month, and they are also graduates of Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.
This fall, Joe will attend Quinnipiac University, and Robert will head south to the University of Alabama. Joe and Robert have devoted a considerable amount of time and energy to the fire department and the greater Mendham community these past few years. We thank them for their commitment, and we’re proud to recognize their achievements. Please join us in congratulating Joe and Robert on this award, and we wish them well at college and in all their future endeavors.
About the Scholarship
The Mendham Fire Department is a non-profit organization that provides Fire and Rescue services to the Borough of Mendham. The Department was formed in 1905 and has operated as a total volunteer effort since its inception. Due to recent waning volunteerism, the Mendham Fire Department has recognized the need to recruit members to assist in the operations of the Department. The Department is seeking to award those individuals who have exhibited strong leadership qualities, those recognizing the need for volunteerism in society, those dedicated to teamwork and those dedicated to the pursuit of a higher education. A complete list of scholarship recipients can be found here.
Junior Membership Program
Since its inception in 1972, the Department’s Junior Firefighters program has let numerous young men and women participate in various firefighting and rescue activities. For more information please visit mendhamfd.org/juniors/.
