Fireworks in New Jersey

There’s no doubt that fireworks are fun to watch, which is why the Borough’s public safety officials are stressing during this year’s 4th of July celebration—keep the fireworks themselves in the hands of the professionals.

The Mendham Fire Department Department would like to remind everyone that not all fireworks are legal in New Jersey. The law now permits the storage, retail sales and use of sparkling devices and novelties by the public 16 years of age or older.

The full text of this law can be found online at: www.njleg.state.nj.us. The flyer below illustrates examples of legal and illegal fireworks in New Jersey.
