Christopher Nelson is Sworn in as Chief

Chris Nelson, above wearing the white hat,  is sworn-in as Chief on January 7, 2014. Above, Chris’ brother Brian holds the bible as Borough Clerk Maureen Massey administers the oath of office. Also standing with Chris are Department Chaplain Fr Michael Drury, Borough Clerk Maureen Massey and Chris’ mother Barbara.

At the 2014 Borough re-organization meeting last evening, Christopher Nelson was officially sworn-in as Mendham Fire Department’s new Chief.

Nelson takes over the position from Richard DeNicola, who served as Chief in 2012 and 2013. Chris joined the Department in May of 1998 as a junior member and has served as Deputy Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, 2nd Assistant Chief prior to his promotion to Chief.
